Ludus Baroque Bach Cantata Project

Ludus Baroque is delighted to launch its Bach Cantata project with four gloriously colourful cantatas – each to be performed on the specific day Bach composed it for.

The project will take the form of singing ‘workshops’ in the beautiful setting of St Andrew's and St George's West Church and will culminate in a performance of the rehearsed cantata. Each workshop will run from 2.00-6.00pm with an informal performance at 5.30pm.

We are inviting you, the choral singers and enthusiasts of Edinburgh and further afield, to take part in this project, either attending as a participant to rehearse and perform the chorus part with our Chorusmaster, Orchestra and quartet of soloists or attending as a member of the audience and joining in the final chorale.

Sunday 18th February 2018
BWV 127 Herr Jesu Christ, wahr’ Mensch und Gott

Sunday 18th March 2018

Sunday 15th April 2018

There will be the opportunity to have informal discussions with the players over a tea break and then the workshop will end with a performance of the cantata together with an introduction to enable an understanding of the work from within.
